Nothing built above you

The Hilltop Sunset bungalows sit at the highest point of the ridge at Hilltop Komodo Resort, the second property on Sebayur Island. That position is the entire reason they exist and the reason they cost more than the Sunrise rooms: nothing is built above them, nothing interrupts the sightline, and the view opens out across the islands in a sweep that most people only see after hiking somewhere for it.

They face west, so the end of the day happens directly in front of the bungalow. The sun drops behind the islands and the light comes in low through the full-height glass and across the deck, which is the sort of thing that sounds like marketing until you have watched it from a chair with the doors open.

A complete resort, not an annexe

Hilltop has its own restaurant, spa, infinity pool and 24-hour front office, so it works as a resort in its own right. Komodo Resort and its dive centre are a short walk down the hill, so guests can use both properties freely during a stay.

Diving runs from the same dive centre, which puts the Komodo National Park sites within reach of a hilltop room.
