That is the question behind your decision with whom to do your dive trip in Bali simply because it will dictate wether or not your experience will be as good as you hope it will. So there are a few factors to consider when making your choice:

1. Safety

Safety above all and extra safety is good safety, that’s what we always say. It should be the main focus when choosing a dive shop. Look for the signs that has a strong safety record and is committed to following the highest standards of equipment maintenance and primarily, to be a certified dive center with one of the popular diving organisation such as PADI, SSI or NAUI.

2. Diver to guide ratio

Under any circumstances, and regardless of your experience, your dive group should never larger than 3 divers of equal experience and certification for 1 dive guide. A good dive shop will follow this rule for ensuring the highest underwater safety and fun. The larger the group, the more difficult for the dive guide to pay attention to details and safely guide the group, especially when the group has mixed experience.

3. Equipment maintenance

The dive shop should have equipment provided by the most reputable brands such as AquaLung, ScubaPro, Apeks, or Mares. Secondly, the dive shop should have properly maintained equipment and it’s easy to spot if there are any issues. The dive shop should recommend to do equipment check and fitting prior to departing on the dive trip.
During the equipment check you can spot any issues such as corrosion, inflator or deflator button being stuck, or the condition of the first and second stages, etc.

4. Experience

Look for a dive shop that has been operating for at least a couple of years and with a good reputation on-line. Experienced dive shops have loads of positive and negative reviews that easily showcase the experience of the management and the diving team.

5. Reviews

This is perhaps the driving engine of your consideration for the chosen dive shop Bali. Read them and trust them, either positive or negative. Judge accordingly and check the reviews in multiple sources.
If the reviews are predominantly negative on TripAdvisor but all positive on Google, definitely there’s something wrong. The ratings should be consistent across different websites.

6. Location

You must take in consideration the location of the dive shop Bali because the island is big and traveling can take quite an extensive amount of time. Example from Canggu from Sanur, you can easily spend 1 hour in the car for a one way trip.
Most of the dive shops Bali are located in Sanur or on the east coast of the island in Padang Bai, Tulamben and Amed.. Ideally is to stay in Sanur because the town is centrally located in Bali which enables you quick and affordable trips compared to staying somewhere far on the west coast.

7. Price

And of course, finally it’s all about the money. Price is a strong motivator for your decision and although most dive shops practice similar prices, we do not recommend choosing the cheapest. Dive shops with the best reviews and the highest safety with the best equipment have high costs and hence higher overall prices for their dive trips in Bali.
If the dive shops you have chosen to look at have slightly different prices, compare with the reviews and you might find that the more expensive one will be the best choice for several reasons.

1. Dive Shop Bali in Sanur

Sanur is the main hub of dive shops in Bali, and they’re all located around the main Bypass or Jl. Danau Tamblingan. Our dive center can be easily found just off the Bypass, reaching Sanur from Kuta, just before entering the main area of Sanur, on Jl. Suka Merta street.
